Tenpin bowlers aim to rack up points by rolling strikes, but the curvature of the pins and small variations in their starting positions can make their behavior difficult to predict and control. If a bowler can hit the headpin at a particular position and angle, though, there’s a near guarantee that all ten pins will tumble.
