Laura Fattaruso

Laura Fattaruso is an associate editor at Physics Today. They write about emerging research and solicit and edit articles authored by experts in the physical sciences. At Physics Today, they have written on topics that span a range of disciplines in the physical sciences, including particle physics, climate change, geophysics, chemical engineering, planetary science, astronomy, and medical physics.

Before working at AIP, Laura wrote and produced stories for King5 News in Seattle as part of the AAAS Mass Media fellowship program, wrote press releases for the Geological Society of America as a science communication fellow, and covered earthquake and natural disaster research for Temblor Earth News. From 2018–2023, Laura produced and hosted a podcast, Lab Talk with Laura, that featured interviews with scientists across disciplines and career stages. They have a PhD in geoscience from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
