Andrew Grant is an assistant managing editor at Physics Today, where he plans, assigns, and edits stories. He has also focused on digital storytelling, including through data visualizations .

Andrew has a bachelor’s degree in physics from The College of New Jersey and a master’s in journalism from New York University’s Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting Program. Andrew was an editor at Discover and then the physics writer at Science News before joining Physics Today in 2016.

Andrew’s work has been honored with the American Institute of Physics’s Science Communication Award, the American Geophysical Union’s David Perlman Award for Excellence in Science Journalism, and inclusion in The Best American Science and Nature Writing anthology. His 2023 article “The rocky lives of cosmic rubble piles” in Physics Today was recognized with the American Astronomical Society’s Jonathan Eberhart Planetary Sciences Journalism Award.
