January in New York: APS and AAPT meet

10,000 people are expected to attend this annual event. Next year the “New York” meeting will be held in Chicago.

THE IMMENSE NEW YORK HILTON will again, at the end of this month, be headquarters hotel for the annual joint meeting of the American Physical Society and the American Association of Physics Teachers. This year the meeting will take place between Monday, 30 Jan. and Thursday, 2 Feb. APS has scheduled 804 contributed papers, breaking all previous records and necessitating a reduction in invited papers. AAPT has scheduled 69 contributed papers.
