SPACE.com: There have been raging debates over the years as to whether there is frozen water on the moon or not.
Earlier today two NASA spacecraft, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and the LCROSS impactor, blasted off on NASA’s first mission to the moon in more than a decade.Any ice they discover could not only answer some challenging questions about the geological history of the Moon, but also to support further space exploration.
The finding that the Saturnian moon may host layers of icy slush instead of a global ocean could change how planetary scientists think about other icy moons as well.
Modeling the shapes of tree branches, neurons, and blood vessels is a thorny problem, but researchers have just discovered that much of the math has already been done.
