Nuclearrisk.org: Martin Hellman is a co-inventor of public key cryptography, the technology that secures communication of credit card and other sensitive information over the internet. He has worked for more than 25 years to reduce the threat posed by nuclear weapons and his current project is described at NuclearRisk.org. He is a glider pilot with over 2,600 hours in the air.
