ODNI disbands Intelligence Science Board

OCT 18, 2010
Physics Today
Secrecy News : In the Federation of American Scientists’ publication Secrecy News, Steven Aftergood writes that James R. Clapper Jr, the new director of national intelligence , has disbanded the Intelligence Science Board. A spokesman for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said the move to eliminate the board should not be seen as a rejection of science advice but as a step toward a smaller standing bureaucracy and increased efficiency. The plan is to replace the 20 advisory boards with one senior advisory group and convene task forces on specific issues as needed.
