New York Times: Hong Kong’s Clean Air Network, a nongovernmental activist group, has created an infomercial spoof that purports to offer canisters of fresh air to the city’s smog-plagued residents. The Cantonese-language version has had more than 143 000 views on YouTube over the last six days. The English-language version appears below. The Clean Air Network estimates that Hong Kong’s air is three times more polluted than New York’s and twice as bad as London’s. Despite its tongue-in-cheek delivery, the infomercial ends with the sobering message that if nothing is done to improve air quality now, what is portrayed in the ad may become reality.
