Director of UK’s Culham Laboratory retires

Sir Chris Llewellyn Smith retired on 5 September as Director of the Culham Laboratory in the U. K.

A former Director of CERN in Geneva, Sir Chris also is serving as Chair of the ITER Council. He is succeeded by Steve Cowley as Culham Director. Cowley was previously a professor at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
