West Virginia returns to unedited science curriculum

New York Times : West Virginia was one of the states that contributed to the development of the Next Generation Science Standards, a science-focused education standard similar to the Common Core standards. However, upon adopting the standards in December, West Virginia’s state board of education instead approved an altered version that downplayed climate change. On Wednesday, in response to public pressure, the board voted to return to the original standards, which will be officially adopted following a 30-day period for public comment.
