Obama nominates new NSF deputy director, DOE Office of Science head

Science : On Wednesday, President Obama announced he was nominating Richard Buckius as deputy director of NSF and Cherry Murray as director of the Department of Energy’s Office of Science. Buckius is currently NSF’s chief operating officer and senior science adviser and a professor of mechanical engineering at Purdue University. Cherry is a professor at Harvard University and has served as dean of Harvard’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Before that she was a senior administrator at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
