Las Vegas Business Press : As the function of the Nevada Test Site was initially shaped by the Cold War era, so has it been redefined following the terrorist attacks of 9/11.Parts of the 1,380-square-mile site that were used for nuclear tests 41 years ago are still in use, mainly by the Department of Homeland Security, which conducts various research and training programs.
