Kansan billionaires fund effort to overturn Californian climate change law

SEP 17, 2010
Physics Today
New York Times : In 2006 the governor of California Arnold Schwarzengger signed into law the Global Warming Solutions Act , a series of emissions-limiting measures intended to bring California into compliance with the Kyoto Protocol . An initiative to suspend the law will appear on statewide ballots when Californians go to the polls in November. As the New York Times‘s Adam Nagourney reports, the initiative is getting considerable support from outside California, most notably and generously from Charles and David Koch. The billionaire brothers from Kansas have donated $1 million toward persuading voters to vote in favor of the ballot initiative.
