DOI: 10.1063/1.3071134
With less than two years gone by since he CERN Council approved the revised 300‐GeV accelerator, the project is moving rapidly from the drawing board into the machine shop. Contracts have now been let for the civilengineering work, the main magnets and the rf power supply, and a start has been made on ordering other major components on schedules that would ensure that the facility would be in operation in 1976 supporting a full experimental schedule.
