The Annual Report surveys a year of change and of major investments as the Institute begins to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary while planning for the future. As the American Institute of Physics prepared to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary it took important steps in 1980 to establish a base of operations for the next fifty years; some of these steps also involved major financial investments.
