Robert L. Chasson

The Cuarto Curso Interamericano de Rayos Cósmicos was held at San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, on January 19–31, 1959. The meeting was principally attended by South American investigators and consisted of a series of review papers and several original contributions. The principal topics discussed were cosmic‐ray time variations and their possible relationships to solar and geophysical phenomena in general. There was also considerable discussion of corrections to be applied to long‐term neutron and meson monitor records in order to permit the most effective use of worldwide IGY data.
