Two men arrested in plot to build x-ray weapon

JUN 20, 2013
Physics Today
New York Times : Two men were arrested this week in New York for conspiring to provide support for the building of a weapon of mass destruction. Glendon Scott Crawford, an industrial mechanic working for General Electric, and his accomplice Eric Feight, an engineer who works in industrial automation, allegedly sought to build an x-ray-emitting device to kill Muslims and other enemies of Israel. They were said to be planning to mount the device in a truck that could be parked near a potential target. The device could then be activated remotely. Authorities were first alerted to the plan last year when Crawford started approaching Jewish organizations looking for funding.
