Stanford Linear Collider Finally Starts Producing the Z0

There was great rejoicing, and considerable relief, at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center on the morning of 12 April. The Stanford Linear Collider (SLC) had finally recorded its first Z0 particle—two years after the last piece of this unique electron‐positron accelerator was put in place.
