Chronicle of Higher Education: After earning a PhD in chemistry at Harvard University, Randy Wedin abandoned his research career, moved back to Minnesota with his wife, and became a stay-at-home father to the couple’s four children. Wedin is now a freelance science writer. In a commentary in the Chronicle, he explains how the lessons he learned as a graduate student have helped him be a better father.
