BBC : Launched last week to resupply the International Space Station astronauts with food, water, and fuel, Russia’s Progress 59 spacecraft suffered a malfunction and had been orbiting Earth ever since as mission controllers tried to fix the problem. As of today, however, the craft was allowed to reenter Earth’s atmosphere, where it burned up somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, according to the Russian space agency Roscosmos. Despite the loss of the 3-ton cargo, valued at almost $51 million, the astronauts should have enough supplies to last until the next scheduled delivery on 19 June.
