Quieting Ram Jets

In 1945 the Applied Physics Laboratory of Johns Hopkins University, in a project for the U.S. Navy Bureau of Ordnance, established a testing laboratory for ram jet motors at Forest Grove, Maryland in relatively open country where high noise levels could be tolerated.
