Program for geophysics

A three‐year study of the future course of research in solid‐earth geophysics in the United States, carried out by some of America’s leading geophysicists, has recently culminated in a report on the subject, published by the National Academy of Sciences. Entitled Solid‐Earth Geophysics: Survey and Outlook, it represents a joint effort of the Academy’s Division of Earth Sciences and Geophysics Research Board. The study upon which it is based was made possible by the continuing support provided by the National Science Foundation to the Geophysics Research Board.
