Perkin–Elmer ships 2.3‐m optical space‐telescope assembly

This month the Optical Telescope Assembly of Space Telescope is being shipped from Perkin–Elmer Corp to Lockheed Missiles and Space Co, where the remaining hardware and observing instruments will be installed and tested. Once planned for launch in 1984, Space Telescope is now scheduled to be launched by the Space Shuttle in August 1986 into an orbit 360 miles above the Earth.
