The AIP governing board and the required number of member societies have voted to raise the status of both the American Crystallographic Association and the American Astronomical Society from associate membership to full membership in AIP. Formal acceptance of ACA and AAS as full member societies must await the institute Corporation’s meeting on 18 February, at which time the present member societies will vote by proxy. Results of this vote will be made retroactive to 1 January, which will be the official entry date of the two organizations into full member status.
