Intense MeV‐Electron Beams and Prospects for Accelerators

Although the intensity of charged‐particle beams was believed to have a theoretical limit, several groups have now produced relativistic‐electron beams with intensities beyond the limit. Besides the interesting properties of the beam itself, the electron flux might be used for relatively inexpensive ion accelerators.
