A preliminary report on the resources and the extent of industrial research and development in the United States has been issued by the Department of Defense Research and Development Board and by the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. The report, which summarizes the results of an RDB survey covering about eighty‐five percent of all research and development carried on by industry during 1951, includes data on some two thousand companies.
