Indiana Graduate Program

A new graduate program in chemical physics has been inaugurated at Indiana University. Under the program, graduate students will earn a PhD degree in chemical physics either by majoring in physical chemistry with minors in theoretical physics and mathematics, or by majoring in physics with minors in physical chemistry and mathematics. The program is administered by an interdepartmental committee, and research opportunities are available in the areas of molecular quantum mechanics, molecular structure and spectroscopy, nuclear physics and chemistry, scattering theory, solid‐state physics and chemistry, and chemical kinetics. Financial assistance in the form of teaching and research assistantships as well as graduate school fellowships, NDEA fellowships, and and NASA traineeships are available to qualified students.
