DOROTHY Nickerson, color technologist with the US Department of Agriculture, has been selected as the third recipient of the Godlove Award of the Inter‐Society Color Council. The award, a gold diffraction grating embedded in a plastic prism, was presented at a banquet held April 11 during the 30th Annual Meeting of the Council in Rochester, N.Y. Miss Nickerson, who has served in the past both as secretary and as president of the Inter‐Society Color Council, is internationally known for her work on color standards and the color properties of light sources. She is the author of more than 30 papers in various scientific and technical publications and has served on the color committees of the Optical Society of America, the American Society for Testing Materials, the Illuminating Engineering Society, and the International Commission on Illumination.
