BBC: Stewart Nozette, a former planetary scientist who ran a nonprofit technology company, has admitted to charges that he attempted to sell technological secrets to Israel. Nozette was caught when he offered details of the US nuclear missile program to an FBI agent who pretended to work for Israel’s spy agency, the Mossad. By admitting his guilt, Nozette avoided a possible death sentence. He will serve 13 years in prison.
The finding that the Saturnian moon may host layers of icy slush instead of a global ocean could change how planetary scientists think about other icy moons as well.
