Chinese manned spacecraft returns to Earth

JUN 29, 2012
Physics Today
BBC : Earlier today China’s Shenzhou 9 spacecraft landed in Inner Mongolia, successfully completing its 13-day mission. Launched 16 June, the craft carried three astronauts who performed a number of tasks, including both automatic and manual docking with the Tiangong 1 laboratory module. The mission, an important step toward China’s goal of building its own space station by 2020, included the country’s first female astronaut to go into space; Liu Yang was an experienced air force pilot before she entered the space program just two years ago.
