China prepares for manned space launch

JUN 11, 2012
Physics Today
BBC : This month China plans to send three astronauts to its Tiangong 1 space laboratory module, which was launched into Earth orbit last year. It will be the country’s fourth manned space flight. Once the Shenzhou 9 spacecraft has docked at the module, the astronauts will carry out scientific experiments on board. For the next two years, China plans to use Tiangong 1 to test the rendezvous and docking capabilities that will be needed for its larger, modular space station, scheduled to be completed in 2020.
