Physics Today

Today is the birthday of theoretical physicist Brian Greene who was born in 1963 in New York City. Greene is most well known for his contributions to string theory and the books he has written about string theory and related topics: The Elegant Universe, The Fabric of the Cosmos, and The Hidden Reality. A professor at Columbia University in New York, he is also a co-founder of the World Science Festival, a five-day event in NYC that aims to share the wonder of science with the general public.
