Physics Today

MEMBERS of the American Physical Society have been invited to affiliate individually with the Professional Group on Electronic Computers of The Institute of Radio Engineers under an IRE plan offered as a service to members of professional societies in fields allied to electronic computers but whose primary professional interest may not be in electronics. The Professional Group on Electronic Computers is an association of IRE members and affiliates with professional interest in the fields of analog and digital electronic computers. The group is concerned with the advancement of the electronic computer field and serves to aid in promoting close cooperation and exchange of technical information among its members. The affiliate plan fee ($8.50 per year) is considerably below regular membership rate in the IRE and includes the quarterly Transactions of the group. Application forms can be obtained by writing to the Institute of Radio Engineers, 1 East 79th Street, New York 21, N.Y. (attention of Mr. L. G. Cumming, Technical Secretary).
