Material indicated in brackets below was inadvertently omitted from the second paragraph of R. Smoluchowski’s review of Action des Rayonnements de Grande Energie sur les Solides, by Y. Cauchois et al., in Physics Today, February, 1957, p. 35:
“A brief introduction to the field of irradiation effects in solids by Y. Cauchois is followed by a survey of crystalline defects by J. Friedel. This excellent chapter, and also the langest one, treats in some detail the [structure and properties of various lattice and electronic defects. The clarity of the presentation is an excellent prognostication for the] forthcoming book on deslocations by the same author.”
