Richard Addiss Jr, of Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on 3 April 2019.

Richard was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on 13 May 1929. He was raised in Beacon, New York, and was a graduate of Beacon High School Class of 1947. Following graduation, he attended the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then Cornell University, where he graduated in 1958 with a PhD in physics.

Richard worked for RCA of Princeton, New Jersey, Itek Corp of Lexington, Massachusetts, and finally Solar Power Corp of Woburn, Massachusetts, where, among other accomplishments, he was responsible for the installation of a photovoltaic solar power array at the Beverly High School in Beverly, Massachusetts, in 1980. He also served on the IEEE Subcommittee on Photovoltaic Energy Systems.

Richard will be remembered by family and friends as a kind and caring gentleman and by his son as also the best dad a son could ever have. He is greatly missed.
