Kenneth Charles Hass, a theoretical condensed matter physicist, died on 1 June 2005 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, after a long, courageous, and graceful bout with cancer. At the time of his death, he led 60 physicists, chemists, and engineers as manager of the physical and environmental department at the Ford Motor Co.
