Wilczek replies: Interested readers deserve the pleasure of reading Wigner’s classic essay for themselves. Here’s how he began it: “The miracle of the appropriateness of the language of mathematics for the formulation of the laws of physics is a wonderful gift which we neither understand nor deserve.” I don’t think I misrepresented him.
